Named after City Commissioner Alice Wilson, the park sits on the U.S. / Mexico border on the Rio Grande River in Downtown Brownsville. Located on the banks of the Rio Grande River in downtown Brownsville, the marker identifies the area that served as the starting point of the Chisholm Trail. The trail led from Brownsville in far south Texas and went north through present-day Yukon, Oklahoma.
