Claudia Alaniz
Biography
Claudia Alaniz is the Program Coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center for Minority Aging Research at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she supports research, educational programming, and community outreach initiatives focused on aging, brain health, and Alzheimer’s disease awareness. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Claudia is deeply connected to the community she serves and is passionate about supporting initiatives that improve health education and access to resources throughout South Texas. After graduating from high school, Claudia joined the United States Navy, where she proudly served for 10 years. Her military service helped shape her leadership, organizational, and communication skills, which continue to guide her professional work today. Following her military career, she pursued higher education and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2015. She later obtained her Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2018.
In her current role, Claudia coordinates a variety of administrative, educational, and community-focused activities that support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center for Minority Aging Research through her combined background in military service, business administration, and program coordination, Claudia brings a strong commitment to community engagement, collaboration, and advancing awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and healthy aging.
